A three-stage pipeline has always-ready ports and each stage can accept the next transaction every edge. Delivery latency is three cycles and the clock period is five nanoseconds.
What are the filled pipeline's II and sustained throughput?
Stages process different transactions simultaneously, allowing one new start per cycle, so II=1. One output per five nanoseconds gives 200 million transactions per second. Individual delivery latency is separately fifteen nanoseconds.
