A 3.3 V source steps through 10 kΩ into a node with 100 nF to ground and a 10 kΩ load to ground. The capacitor starts at 0 V. Determine the final value first, then zero the source to find the resistance seen by the capacitor.
What are final voltage and time constant?
The load halves the DC output. With the ideal voltage source replaced by a short, the two 10 kΩ resistors are parallel, giving 5 kΩ. τ = 5 kΩ × 100 nF = 0.5 ms.
